GloMat by Ultimate Degree was designed by Chris and his group for a Year 2 Semester 2 - Application of Product Design Module. The brief was to design a bathroom product that would aid the elderly to support themselves at home. This project was set by Sagentia.
These are the group concepts the were created from the initial brainstorming. These are the best concepts, which were then condensed down until a final concept to manufacture was decided.
Our decided product is a bathmat, temperature sensing device. The bathmat senses the temperature of the water and changes colour accordingly. Blue for bold, green for warm and red for hot.

Research
This shows the manufacturing research that took place into the components necessary to build the product.
Construction
This shows the construction of the project made from a bathmat and RGB SMD LED strips. The construction was entirely completed by Chris.
Electronics
This shows the electronics proof-of-concept that was created. Whilst all of the electronics circuitry was outsourced all of the programming was performed by Chris
Testing
Basic reliability testing took place for both the bathmat and the electronics. Both were put under endurance tests for 24hours to determine whether the products were stable.
